Agree to Disagree

Arguments.  Everyone hates them.  They take up precious time and are useless.  How do you stop them?
First, say: "Look, I know we have different views, but this is wasting our time.  Let's just agree to disagree, okay?"
What if your "opponent" persists on arguing?  Look them straight in the eye and tell them that the argument is getting boring and that you will not put up with the constant bickering between the two of you.
Still going at it?  Walk away.  You have better things to do than to spend your time arguing on what television show is funnier when you could be doing some of your homework during study hall.
But how do you prevent an argument?
Don't get upset too often.  When you feel a wave of fury coming on, squeeze your fists really tightly and then let go.  Someone really, really smart and helpful told me that.  And, he also told me that you can't be tense and relaxed at the same time.  Hence, If you can make yourself tense, you can make yourself relaxed, too.
